What's Summer Reading?

Summer Reading is a national initiative to encourage kids, teens & adults to continue reading & learning during the summer time season.

This year's theme is Color Your World, aimed at highlighting art in its many forms.

How Can I Participate?

RCL's Summer Reading Program allows EVERYONE in the community to participate. You do not need to have a library card to participate, however, you do need to be able to appear in-person, at the library, to pick up any materials or prizes.

Summer Reading starts on June 24, 2025 and lasts until August 2, 2025.

Individuals or families can sign up for the Reading Challenge portion by downloading and registering with the Beanstack app OR by stopping into the library and grabbing a paper tracker. Need Help? Watch our Tutorial!

Reading Challenges vary by age/grade, with programs for Kids (Infant - Grade 5), Teens (Grade 6 - 12), and Adults (Ages 18+)
Click on the icons above for more details about each individual program.

Events, programs, & activities will be held during Summer Reading to accompany the Reading Challenge. Some require registration BEFORE the date of the event. Required registration will be noted within the details of each event. You may register for a program through our online calendar, or by calling the library and speaking to a staff member.
