What is a Library of Things?

The Library of Things (LoT) is a unique collection of physical items that can be checked out just like books. We have a diverse collection ranging from musical instruments to metal detectors to board games.

Any Richland Community Library patron can check out LoT items in person at the library. Enjoy your item for one or two weeks depending on the Thing.

Things to Keep In Mind:

• LoT items cannot be renewed. Please see a librarian under special circumstances. 
• Thing availability subject to change. You may place Things on reserve.
• Hotspots can only be checked out by Richland Community Library card holders (Residents/Paid/Educators). No Reciprocal borrowing.
• Some Things in our LoT collection are expensive to replace. We kindly ask that you handle our Things with care and respect. Borrowers are responsible for the replacement costs of any damaged or lost items. Thank you for helping us maintain this valuable resource for our community!
