Richland Community Library

Below are the four types of library cards needed to obtain materials from the Richland Community Library.

To apply for a library card, please bring a valid photo ID with your current address. If your ID doesn't not have your current address, please bring an additional piece of mail with your name and current address.

To obtain a minor's library card (ages 0-17), the child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Residents of Richland

  • To obtain a Resident Card, you must live within the township of Richland. If you are unsure what township you live in, check your address here.
  • As a Resident Card holder, you may check out up to 100 items at a given time, including 20 DVDs/BluRays, 20 Audiobooks, 10 New Release books/audiobooks, & 3 New Release DVDs/BluRays.
  • You also have access to Interlibrary Loan, our Digital Services (eBooks, etc.) & circulation of our Mobile Hotspots.
  • Resident Cards cost $0 per year.

Educators

  • To obtain an Educator Card, you must qualify as one of the following:
    • Gull Lake Community Schools educator, admin, or staff.
    • Teacher or staff of a preschool or daycare within Richland Township
    • Richland resident that is currently a private or public school teacher in another district
    • Home School educator that qualifies for a resident or reciprocal card
  • Educator Card holders qualify for all Resident Card services.
  • Educator Cards cost $0 per year.

Non Township Residents

  • If you do not reside in Richland Township, but have library card with one of the listed libraries, you may obtain a Reciprocal Card.
  • You must have a library card, in good standing, with one of the following area libraries:
    • Augusta McKay Library (Ross Township)
    • Comstock Township Library
    • Delton District Library
    • Galesburg Charleston Memorial District Library
    • Kalamazoo Public Library
    • Parchment Community Library
    • Portage District Library
    • Ransom District Library (Plainwell)
  • As a Reciprocal Card holder, you may check out up to 50 items at any given time, including 20 being DVDs/BluRays.
  • Reciprocal Cards cost $0 per year.

Please note that we do not give out Reciprocal Cards to minors. Minors may be placed as approved users under their parent/guardian's card.

Non-Resident, Non-Educator, Non-Reciprocal 

  • If you do not qualify for any of the previously listed card types, you may still check out material at the library.
  • Paid Card holders qualify for all Resident Card services.
  • Paid Cards cost $75 per year.

Please note, multiple family members can share a paid membership card.

Our book drop is located in the rear parking lot of the library, which is accessible though the Richland Eye Care parking lot off of 32nd Street.
