About the Seed Library

Coming Spring 2025! Thanks to the support of generous donors, our seed library will soon be available to the community. It offers free seeds for anyone interested in growing their own plants—no RCL card required. We encourage you to take only what you can reasonably plant and, if possible, help sustain the library by saving seeds to share, donating store-bought seeds, or contributing a monetary gift to keep this resource thriving.

Seed libraries promote community, protect seed diversity, save families money, and teach about our region’s agricultural roots. The goal is to create a self-sustaining cycle where borrowers save and return seeds after harvesting, helping the seeds grow stronger and better adapted to local conditions over time.

Seeds are located by the main entrance, next to the Teen Room.

Some plants can cause negative or adverse reactions in humans or animals. It is your responsibility to educate yourself about the plants you are considering adding to your landscaping. Please check Poisonous and Nonpoisonous Plants, ASPCA  for a guide to toxic plants.
