How do I become a member of the Richland Community Library?
There are several ways to get a Richland Community Library card.

I live in Richland township. Simply bring your photo ID into the library during normal business hours and one of our staff will get you registered.
Note: If your photo ID does not show your current address, you must bring in a piece of mail that reflects your Richland township residency.

I live outside Richland township, but the Richland Community Library is the closest library to my home/school/work.

If you are not a resident of Richland township, but live in the areas listed below, you may still be able eligible for a Richland Community Library card.
First, you must receive a card through your home library*. Ask them for a MILibrary sticker.
Then, come into the Richland Community Library with your home library card and your photo ID.
Note: MILibrary patrons have checkout limitations.
You will receive notice of these limitations upon registration.

I am a card member at the Kalamazoo Public Library and/or the Portage District Library. The Richland Community Library has a Reciprocal agreement with both KPL and PDL.
You must bring in your KPL or PDL library card and a photo ID to register for a Richland Community Library card.

None of the statements above apply to me, but I am still interested in getting a library card. If you do not live in Richland township or any of the MILibrary Card townships and do not qualify for a KPL or PDL library card, you may still be able to become a Richland Community Library patron.
For a yearly fee of $75**, you may take advantage of all of Richland Community Library’s services, including print and media checkouts, digital resources, Interlibrary Loan, and more.
To sign up for a yearly membership, please bring your photo ID and cash or check to the Richland Community Library during normal business hours.
**There is also the option of a limited membership of 3 months for $30. This will exclude Interlibrary Loan services and certain digital resources.
