RCL GALLERY SPACE
Two-Dimensional Work
Located in the lower level, the RCL gallery space has approximately 40 running-feet of wall space with a top rail system and adjustable cables. Also located in the gallery space is a locking display case with adjustable shelving where additional items can be shown: extra art works, process images, tools, matrixes, books, etc. Additionally, there are three spaces on the main level to accommodate large works.
RCL DISPLAY CASES
Three-Dimensional Work
The RCL offers four (4), identical, upright display cases located in the upper level of the Library. Each case has a 16"w X 16"d X 22"h display area. There are a limited number of display risers.
PROPOSAL FOR EXHIBITION
The RCL can accommodate both two- and three-dimensional works. Established and emerging artists of Michigan are encouraged to submit a proposal. All forms are considered – from traditional, contemporary, innovative to craft-based mixed media.
Submissions received will be considered for exhibits on a rolling basis. Submitted applications are reviewed throughout the year. Each exhibit will run for approximately two to three months.
PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
- Brief Cover Letter expressing your interest in exhibiting your work at the RCL.
- Artist Statement.
- Brief Biography
- Artist Resume of selected exhibitions (if available).
- Inventory List of images submitted. List works in the following order: corresponding number, title of work, dimensions, medium, year, retail/insurance value (if available).
6. Images. Five (5) to ten (10) jpeg files of intended for exhibition: 300 dpi, 6" maximum in either direction. Each file should be labeled with a number, your last name, underscore, and the title of work (long titles may be abbreviated). Example: 1Smith_OverTheBridge.jpg
MS Word or pdf format preferred for submission of items 1-5. In order to best represent your work, include all requested materials with your proposal.
