The Gilmore Car Museum Presents The Automobile Adventure of the Abernathy Brothers
This lesson focuses on the story of Bud and Temple Abernathy, ages 6 & 10, who traveled from their home in
Frederick, Oklahoma, to New York City on horseback and then from New York City back to Oklahoma, by
automobile, by themselves. The emphasis is on geography and the personal characteristics of courage and
commitment.
